Start the “Groundwork” for Your Pond in the Summer
Due to the tendency for algae to exuberantly grow also during summer, rapidly building a pond in the summer is not a good idea.
However, you can start “laying out” the groundwork for your pond during this period; for example, the excavation of the soil where your pond will be situated, the “paving” application, the “laying out” of the pond liner or “foil”, the “placement” of the polyester (if you are going to use it), the installation of filter locations and tubings, etc., those tasks can be started in the Summer.
Then, when Fall comes, the “actual” work on the pond, such as filling it with water, bringing aquatic plants, “putting in” some fishes, the bacterial inoculation of the pond’s filters, etc., those things can then be put into effect by Fall.
